The Mission
SciSport - “A Scientific Approach to Sports Physical Therapy”. This is a new alternative to the traditional clinic. SciSport brings the pro-athlete level of sports physical therapy to Wilmington. The goal of sports physical therapy is simple - return to play at the highest level to compete and win. By operating out of the fully equipped gym of Matt Skelly Training, SciSport can give you the full return to play sports rehab you need.
At SciSport, when you progress past basic table exercises, the fun begins. Physical therapy should get you back in the game stronger, faster, and more capable of meeting the demands of your sport. Physical therapy and sports performance training shouldn’t be distinct entities. This is science-based and performance driven. Give your body the treatment it deserves.
Don’t play a sport? Doesn’t matter. SciSport is for anyone who is highly invested in their health and wellness. Never “got back” to you’re favorite active pasttime, it’s never to late! Our strength & conditioning style exercise programming combined with elite manual therapy techniques, can give you the tools it takes to finally get back to the activities you love.
The Story
Dr. Caleb Strassberg, PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS
I’m a physical therapist, athletic trainer, and strength and conditioning specialist. Growing up right across the Cape Fear River in Brunswick County, my journey began as a Class of 2015 Tar Heel at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Life took me out west for a full-time stay at my dream surf destination, Southern California. As a student of the #1 Doctor of Physical Therapy program in the country, the University of Southern California, I developed a passion for helping athletes compete at their best. A month after graduating, I continued my education earning a Master of Science in Athletic Training degree. I’ve spent three years in the National Football League working with the best athletes at the highest level of competition.
After three great years of the NFL center-stage, it was time for my next big journey - raising kids. My wife and I said goodbye to Denver, came home to settle down, and started a family. I’m here to bring my experience and skill set working with NCAA D1, Olympic, and NFL athletes to my home-town community of Wilmington.
